Google Maps returns to App Store, turns up missing by day's end

Google on Wednesday officially said that a new Google Maps app was available for the iOS platform. However, the app couldn't be found in the Apple iTunes App Store later in the day. Now, iPhone and iPad users won't have Apple's Maps app to kick around anymore?

Adobe releases Reader for iOS

Adobe has put out a version of its PDF reader software for Apple's iOS, addressing devices including the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.The free and fully-featured Adobe Reader hit iTunes on Monday, allowing users to read PDF portfolios and password-protected PDF files.

Facebook to release iPad app; rains on Friendly's parade

It's almost impossible to believe but more than a year after the iPad's debut Facebook still hasn't released a native app for the blockbuster Apple tablet. The official Facebook app for iOS (iTunes, free) was available when the App Store opened in July 2008 and has over 78 million monthly active users.

Jobs reveals Apple's iCloud, new iTunes, iOS, OS X Lion

In a two-hour keynote in San Francisco on Monday, Apple showed off the next versions of its iOS and OS X operating systems, and revealed its much-anticipated iCloud online storage and synchronisation service.Steve Jobs took the stage for a brief introdution, relinquishing it for Phil Schiller, senior VP of Marketing, who demonstrated gesture and touch integration on Lion, the forthcoming new version of OS X edition.
