LG Machjet LPP6010N: a 60ppm inkjet

LG recently announced the Korean launch of an A4 office printer based on the innovative Memjet high-speed inkjet printing technology. The Machjet LPP6010N is capable of speeds of 60 pages per minute (ppm) at 1,600 by 800 dots per inch (dpi) resolution, making it one of the world's fastest desktop colour printers.

A study conducted by researcher Ipsos on behalf of printer vendor Lexmark International finds that 78 percent of people don't expect their technology to last more than five years. What's more, about 60 percent think that gadgets and devices should be made out of better quality material.

Companies that give their workers the option of telecommuting are seeing greater productivity, lower costs, improved employee health and greater employee retention, according to a survey released today by the Computing Technology Industry Association.Case in point: I'm typing this from this from my own home office setup - a desk out in a corner of the garage where there's a printer, a phone, some speakers (for my background tunes) and even a small TV with CNN on in the background.

Lexmark provides fraud protection with magnetic ink

Printer manufacturer Lexmark on Wednesday teamed up with Dataline, a Magnetic Ink Character Recognition specialist, to help companies automatically recognise fraudulent documents and more easily organise their financial paperworkThe earliest Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) systems were installed in the 1950s by banks and other financial institutions but Lexmark said smaller companies will now have access to the same technology at a fraction of the cost.
