RIM announced the new BBM Music service that provides a unique way to increase the songs available to you and share your music experience through BBM.
BBM is one service that seems to keep people using BlackBerry devices and tonight RIM rolled out a major update that lets developers integrate the BBM experience within apps.
RIM rolled out a SDK for the BBM so that application developers can start integrating the BlackBerry Messenger experience into their apps. BBM is a major selling point for RIM and this type of support should be well received.
With BlackBerry 6 just around the corner, RIM has started pushing out the latest version of its BlackBerry Desktop. It's a major makeover for the familiar BlackBerry experience, and one that's been designed to fit more closely with the BlackBerry device look-and-feel.
RIM just announced their latest device that combines the best of their QWERTY keyboard history with a capacitive touchscreen experience in the Torch 9800. AT&T customers can pick one up for $200 next week.
RIM just announced a new server solution for small and mid-sized businesses that will allow them to get a rich BlackBerry experience for free. The BlackBerry Exchange Server Express software will be available in March.
Most of the excitement in the mobile phone space this week focused on the announcement of the Motorola DROID on Verizon Wireless. Looking at the Verizon Wireless press release archive page you have to scroll down to the 6th or 7th story to find that the RIM BlackBerry Storm2 was also announced this week with availability occuring a couple of days ago on Wednesday, 28 October. Crackberry.com has a detailed review that covers the device in detail and it looks like the Storm2 is the device that the original Storm should have been. RIM tried some different things with the Storm, primarily with their clickable display, that took away from the BlackBerry experience and this no longer seems to be the case.
We usually associate RIM with their BlackBerry smartphones, but lately they have been creating more and more accessories (check out my thoughts on the BlackBerry Premium Multimedia Headset) to optimize the BlackBerry experience. The BlackBerry Visor Mount Speakerphone is a versatile solution that gives you hands-free support in your vehicle. It gives you more functionality than seen in many Bluetooth speakers with a cool integrated FM transmitter. Check out some product photos in my image gallery and my thoughts on using the device below.
