'Unknowns' hack European Space Agency

The European Space Agency has said that a group of hackers called 'The Unknowns' successfully hacked into external servers and got access to user identity information.The Unknowns used SQL injection to attack databases through the European Space Agency (ESA) website, ESA security office manager Stefano Zatti told ZDNet UK on Thursday.

Fujitsu hints at scale-out storage technology

Facebook extends facial recognition tech

Facebook has rolled out facial recognition technology which monitors people's photos in the UK, in a move which has made a security expert question the privacy implications of the service.The social networking site is now searching its servers for photos that look like UK Facebook users, and asking friends of those users to tag the photos, according to Sophos senior technology consultant Graham Cluley.

Sony has been hacked, and one of its servers used to host a phishing site, according to Finnish company F-Secure.The hack, which is not connected to Sony's problems with its PlayStation Network, has placed a phishing webpage on the Sony Thailand site, F-Secure chief research officer Mikko Hypponen told ZDNet UK on Friday.
