Intel: We are 'aware' of 320 SSD bug

Intel has acknowledged reports of bugs in its 320 SSD range in the wake of multiple user complaints.The problems, first reported on Intel's official support forums on 1 June, cause some drives to crash and then show only 8MB of available drive space.

Mac solid-state TRIM support to arrive in Mac OS X Lion

According to reports, support for the TRIM command used by modern solid-state drives (SSD) will arrive with the release of Mac OS X Lion, aka Mac OS X Version 10.7. The software improves the write performance of the flash memory and can also reduce wear on the memory cells.

Micron unveils 25nm Nand flash SSD range

Storage company Micron has brought out its RealSSD C400 range of flash drives, which are the first to use 25nm Nand flash technology.The new RealSSD range of solid-state drives (SSD), announced on Wednesday, use a 25nm production process for Nand flash memory that was co-developed with Intel in the first months of 2010.

Toshiba launches MacBook Air SSDs for the mass market

Toshiba has announced a new range of solid state disk drives (SSD) , but two of the three models have already appeared with the same model numbers in the latest ultrathin Apple MacBook Air computers. Toshiba has trademarked the name Blade X-gale for the new drives, which are more like memory strips.
