Google Nexus 5 review: Great value for money

Given its specification and performance, the Nexus 5 delivers great value for money — if you can live with its (few) drawbacks. The middling-quality camera and uninspiring chassis design don't worry us, but the lack of MicroSD card storage expansion and moderate battery life are more serious minus points.

Dell Vostro 3560 review

The Vostro 3560's 1080p screen is well worth the extra outlay, and rest of the specification is solid, although we'd like more storage options. The physical design is unremarkable, the keyboard a little too flexible and battery life disappointing, but it's still good value for money.

Facebook rolls out open-source datacentre hardware

Facebook has made its stripped-down storage and rack designs available to businesses via the Open Compute Project, a move that could have an impact on the datacentre industry in a number of ways.Facebook will contribute its low-cost storage hardware to open-source hardware design clearing house the Open Compute Project, the company's Frank Frankovsky has said.

Fujitsu Stylistic Q550

Fujitsu's Stylistic Q550 has a functional and robust design. We appreciate the removable battery, while the Infinity Lounge Windows 7 overlay has potential. However, performance is mediocre and internal storage sparse. There should also be a housing on the chassis for the stylus.

Oracle upgrades Exadata with expansion rack

Oracle has brought out expansion racks for its Exadata Database Machine to provide backups and additional processing capacity for data analytics on the appliance.The expansion racks, which went on sale on Tuesday, provide extra storage capacity and processing power for any of the X2-2 and X2-8 appliances.
