The nation's largest telco, Telstra, today revealed it was close to achieving executive sign-off for an internal proposal outlining the technical details of how it intends to filter its customers' access to a list of websites containing child pornography.

Optus not left out: scores $800m NBN deal

Not to be outdone, the nation's number two telco Optus has announced that it has signed a deal with the National Broadband Network Company that will see it transfer its hybrid fibre-coaxial cable customers over to the National Broadband Network, in a deal worth $800 million.
