SAP Has Deployed 1,000 iPads To Its Employees

Talk about eating your own, delicious dog food: SAP CIO Oliver Bussmann tweeted yesterday that the enterprise software vendor has already rolled out iPads to 1,000 employees.And this isn't just a superficial show of support for SAP's new-found embrace of mobility: according to Bussmann, every iPad comes with e-mail, Virtual Private Network (VPN) access to server-based applications through Citrix software and Business Intelligence tools via BusinessObjects.

Dragon brings speech to the iPhone with Search and Dictation apps

Nuance's Dragon speech recognition tools are well known on PC, but in the mobile world the company's probably best known for its work on extended T9. That's going to change with the arrival in the UK App Store of iPhone and iPad versions of its voice-powered Search and Dictation apps.

Does Google's Episodic acquisition change the game at all?

Last Friday, ZDNet's Sam Diaz reported on Google's acquisition of a key Brightcove competitor, Episodic. Brightcove made headlines last week by claiming that it was developing tools that could port its video content to either Flash or HTML 5, making the lack of Flash support on the iPad irrelevant.
