IBM, New York university team on energy management for schools

For the past 10 months, apparently, IBM has been working with the City University of New York (CUNY) on analytics software specifically focused on helping schools in the New York public school system better-manage their energy consumption. But, frankly, I don't see any reason why this technology couldn't be applied to other public school systems in the future, with some localization.

Students report late lecturers via text messaging

Students at Manchester Metropolitan University in the north of England now have an opportunity to report lecturers who are more than ten minutes late in class. It seems to be a constant issue which student unions are trying to address with late lecturers not being able to teach the entire structure of a lecture due to poor time management.

FCC hearings: Comcast versus Vuze

The FCC held its hearing on Comcast's Network Management practices at Harvard University yesterday.  Vuze executive Gilles BianRosa whose company filed one of the two FCC complaints against Comcast reportedly told the FCC yesterday that BitTorrent does not hog bandwidth.
