Cisco to debut Cloud Connect in June

Cisco plans to debut in June a new product called Cloud Connect which will enable secure connectivity between virtualized data centers and across cloud environments. Cisco is working with VMware, Citrix, Red Hat, NetApp and EMC to deliver network and compute solutions for the cloud.

Fujitsu, blades and virtualisation

Fujitsu Siemens has launched a BladeEngine for its PRIMERGY Blade Servers that offers virtualisation features along with unified network communications and a combined 10 Gbit Ethernet and iSCSI SAN Mezzanine card, according to the company.Designed for use in data centres, the card has a dual capability with its 10 Gbit Ethernet and iSCSI SAN controller for virtualised operations so that an individual machine can operate in, say, VMware and Xen environments.

Open source systems management ISV Zenoss will reveal this week a partnership with rPath that will enable it to deliver VMware appliances in the VMware marketplace.The Annapolis, Maryland software company released its first set of application, server and network management appliances – one a hardware appliance, and the other, a VMware-enabled software appliance-- in September.
