NEW YORK — SugarCRM's annual customer and developer expo, SugarCon, is well under way this week, and it's becoming evident that this year's theme is all about getting work done faster by linking up systems.

Thus, a number of the CRM giant's third-party app partners are busy rolling out new features, and many of them are centered around sprucing up social on the online software platform.

Let's take a quick look at a few:

  • DocuSign: The electronic signature service is opening up access to its cloud partner program and eSignature transaction management platform to SugarCRM users along with a free trial for new customers. This means that users can send documents for signature directly from SugarCRM with a single click, potentially speeding up the process for obtaining digital signatures on any document to close deals faster.
  • Get Satisfaction: Get Satisfaction, which produces a community platform intended for building engaging customer experiences, is announcing a partnership with SugarCRM to bring more social features to the CRM — specifically for addressing customer contact and service case management. The San Francisco-based company boasted this should help companies facilitate more "genuine" conversations with customers, who can ask and answer questions within Get Satisfaction's community. The goal is to increase content discoverability up front while reducing customer support inquiries.
  • Bray: The global designer and manufacturer of flow control products is dropping Salesforce.com in favor of Sugar for use among its distributed international sales team. Sugar touted that Bray will be using its CRM solutions for extending sales support within Bray's 16 manufacturing locations worldwide, and in field service while offering more mobile capabilities for remote workers.
