Amazon Web Services has announced that Suse Linux Enterprise Server can be run on cluster compute and cluster GPU virtual machines in its elastic compute cloud.

Suse Linux Enterprise Server became available for Amazon Web Services' (AWS) cluster instances on Wednesday, AWS announced.

Cluster instances, both CPU and GPU, have 10Gb of inter-instance non-blocking connectivity and have more processing power, compared to other instance types, they first became available on the AWS cloud in July.

"Cluster Computer Instances are similar to other Amazon EC2 instances but have been specifically engineered to provide high performance compute and networking," AWS's chief technology officer, Werner Vogels, wrote on his blog at the time of the launch.
