Just a few weeks ago, my son almost missed his flight because he was using this or a similar app on his iPhone... and uh oh! the gate computer went down and no one could use barcode passes.
He had to go wait in a huge line to get a paper pass before he could board, and got on just a minute before they left. Never again will he rely on an electronic pass like this.
