A co-worker and I also had a bad experience with electronic boarding passes. We were trying to get through a rather long TSA line at LAX. When we finally got to the security station and handed him our iPhones, he looked around, asked another agent and came back to tell us that they had nothing to scan them with. We had to make our way back down to the lobby and get paper copies. Luckily they allowed us back to the front of the line when we returned. It's a great idea, but not necessarily ready for prime-time.
