This evening, I was surprised to learn that a client has an iPad.
His tablet and his computer (Win XP) use different operating systems.
I don't think it slowed his gait in the least.
I get that it's impressive if Windows is unified from smartphone through desktop, if it delivers a great user experience regardless of the device, but, I have this little voice asking who cares. This isn't 1997. Synchronization of mobile devices, cross-platform, happens millions of times a day.
Course, maybe my sarcasm detector is faulty tonight; I don't think this really is Ballmer's idea. I just don't recall seeing him say "Windows 7 was my idea," in ad, song, or on stage.
