As a Linux user myself I sure hope you don't use Ubuntu or you are being really hypocritical considering that Ubuntu uses an almost identical desktop with Unity.
Personally I think everyone trying to redesign the desktop is simply an attempt to move PC users to a more mobile like system where every penny can be milked from the user will be.
