@baggins_z: But you're ALSO not allowed to directly link your own store in the app to encourage/make it easy for users to bypass the App Store and Apples 30%. They have to go there themselves, manually, in their browser.
At least not for any kind type of products that iTunes/App Store also provides (music/books/movies).
(Or at least is has been that way. I'm sure it still is.)
