True, but then Android doesn't offer the kind of consistent updates that iOS users get so Android users have to buy new hardware more often to keep up. It's planned obsolescence and it appears to be working out well for Google and their marketing dept (AKA Andy Rubin's Twitter page.) I suspect Android sales figures are inflated because users have to buy more frequently to get updates. It's double-dipping, so to speak. They're not expanding their user base at the rate those activation numbers would suggest.
