Mashup is NOT another useless buzzword.

This article has it right. As my colleague Paul Greenberg says, the future lies with
businesses who compete by allowing users to manage their experiences with a
company, and the n-tier way to do this is with AJAX at the front end, the ability to
"mash up" well-formed data in a middle layer (whether delivered directly from
several remote sources to the UI, or delivered from the enterprise's network).

I think mashups are going to change customer expectations and drive innovation,
to the point that leading consumer-oriented enterprises are going to change the
way they maintain their enterprise data.

Also, I think the platform can be used for decision support within the supply chain,
especially for small and medium enterprises unwilling or unable to invest in really
robust ERP systems.

This is not just opinion, here, we're seeing this happen already.
