When windows has the highest usage rates of any OS in the world I don't think it arrogant to assume that there are more people attacking that than the others since if you are writing a virus or malware you want to be able to effect the largest number of systems to have a good ROI on the time spent writing it. With the likes of OSX being only slightly higher usage than windows 98 you would have to have a very high infection rate say 40-50% to get close to the numbers of infected systems as say 1-2% of windows systems. It just makes more sense to attack the majority as OSX gains popularity especially as the attacks may also work on the IPhone you may see the number of exploits increasing.
