Great post about RIAs needing services-based data access to the back-office. That?s one of the key components of the Appcelerator open-source RIA framework (http://www.appcelerator.org - I work for Appcelerator).
Appcelerator enables the development and integration of business applications with Web browser-based technologies like Ajax and DHTML (without Javascript I might add), as well as Ruby, Java, PHP, Perl, etc. We?ve also placed a great deal of emphasis on supporting the ability to use data across many different sources, regardless of language.
The ability to easily create browser-based RIAs that are cross-platform and open standards-based is really the ticket to delivering on the promise of RIA + SOA. Great article! JP
