Good points raised there. Two more key things:
1. Enterprise Data Model - with all that data flying around, the lack of a corporate
data model is a killer. Data owners, authoritative sources, definitions, dependencies.
2. SOA Governance - Who "owns" and "sustains" the service? How is it managed
through-life? Is the service owner prepared to pay for changes to a service if a
downstream interface is changed? Usually, some form of central governance is
required to effectively manage the services through-life.
