Thanks, Matthieu, that's a great point. However I think the class of platform you describe isn't inherently a SaaS platform, and perhaps has characteristics that cut across several of the categories I've outlined.
Interesting 'cloud orchestration' providers include Serena Software - currently on-premise but moving to SaaS - and JackBe, also on-premise.
Another class of providers that are relevant to the stack but not necessarily SaaS are the virtualization players.
