... each database is a service that is rendered to the cloud. With the use of Master Data Management databases each service is mapped to a request by a user/service within the cloud.
Also as a DBA I agree that there are a lot of security issues (known and unknown) within the cloud model... but they exist as well in the client server models.
Finally, the only way you can have good security is if your DBAs, SAs, Network Admins, Security Admins, and IT management are constantly engaged and working towards a common goal. And in this case... good security does not mean no unauthorized user gets in. You'll *never* achieve that goal unless you isolate your network and only have one user. There are too many hackers out there with too much time on their hands. The best you are likely to achieve is the closing of the obvious holes and a hope that you've closed most of the not-so-obvious holes.
