Does the pen allow you to actually write on the screen accurately enough for Vista's excellent handwriting recognition to work? The last HP tablet I bought with "multi-touch" had a passive stylus for a pen that made handwriting impossible.
I ended up giving that HP tablet to my wife, and I bought a Lenovo X61 tablet with active Wacom pen. The handwriting on that works just fine.
I learned that an active pen is essential if you really want to write or draw on a tablet - which, after all, is what they're made for.
