How would dropping outsourcing help the US economy? The only reason most companies do outsource is due to local professionals requiring huge salaries for jobs that can be done equally as well by people that appreciate the smaller salaries.
In my honest opinion too many American IT professionals are still in the prebubble burst mentality. Companies can't afford to pay the salaries most American's want and that is what has caused the issues you refer to.
Get off your high horse and accept the pay you deserve.
