But then this is why blogs and wiki can be so compelling in particular; as highly freeform tools they can mold themselves around the work and een virtually disappear into it, whereas overly structured applications do the opposite. This is one reason why these two application models are so interesting in the Enterprise 2.0 space compared to some others.
And yes, we do want our business software integrated to greater or lesser extent depending on our business requirements. But I would point out that we've been getting along (mostly) very well in the consumer space by picking the individual products that we want to use when we feel they will do the job best. This is happening increasingly in the enterprise as well and one of the biggest challenges to the modern IT shop is dealing with this in a constructive way that enables positive outcomes.
