Gartner Group knows nothing about nothing. Every prediction they have made about IT is either a "no duh!" prediction, or so completely off base that it is embarrassing for them.
Sadly Gartner yields too much power because brain-dead managers and executives listen to them like they preach the gospel truth. If the managers and executives were more technically savvy, or if they actually listed to their own staff, then Garnter would disappear like the should have over a decade ago.
