I hate "cloud" computing. The concept looks good to management but I don't like putting my eggs in someone else's basket. We lost Internet service last week because of a fiber cut. It was 24 hours with no service. Our company could not afford to operate without a system for 24 hours. I also do not like the idea of my data being in someone else's hands. From a security stand point, I prefer the data in house where I am responsible not a 3rd party. I also find web based applications slow for "heads down" data entry. An extra second or two per transaction for millions of transactions is a lot of lost productivity.
Cloud computing..... you can keep it
