EnterpriseDB's Postgres Plus Advanced Server built on the foundation of the PostgreSQL 20 yr old Open Source DB does in fact allow you to take an application written in Oracle or a DB from Oracle over into Advanced Server seamlessly. It works and EDB has proof in the form of strategic investors Sony Online Entertainment, Nippon Telephone and Telegraph and now IBM. Sony and NTT both former Oracle customers who used Advanced Server to get off of Oracle. This is the secret sauce which IBM licensed in order to put into DB2.
