This suggestion sounds like the facebook format applied to something useful, content owners meeting minds with and transferring limited rights to customers. It also sounds like something that, if it was launched by anyone with an open invitation for everyone to participate, would go off faster than anyone protecting narrow interests could react. The format could have content providers with links to content to be purchased, various facilitators for payment and marketing, and personal and secure places for customers to record their limited ownership of various content. The many forums providing information on all of these products and services could be linked. Often the greatest road block to researching forums is the scattered and unfocused nature of the medium. This situation can be streamlined by using a well organized and reviewed wiki.
These features move the suggestion from the arena of copyrighted media content to include the entire consumer products and web information distribution fields as well.
