How about some specifics on how Sun's Java VM is "buggy" or has "security problems that slowly get fixed".
Also: "one day realise that they don't actually use any slow bloated Java apps in the first place."
1) You might not use Java, but millions and millions do. Don't make claims based on your own situation.
2) If a Java app is bloated, it's a bloated app, not a problem necessarily caused by Java.
And finally: "Have their buggy Java VM try to update every week"
You might want to let it update once in a while and you could have a bit better experience with it.
