These days whenever a couple of CIO's get together, the major topics of conversation usually boil down to a short list:
- How to keep from getting d!cked by your software suppliers (SAP, MS, Oracle, etc.)
- How to keep from getting d!cked by your services providers (you know the list)
- How to keep a lid on propeller-heads who jump on every bandwagon.
We've outsourced a fair piece, but we've also fired a lot of service providers who failed to deliver, who lied about costs, and who promised skills they didn't really have.
