Even after a server failure

...and after we were questioned as to why our disaster recovery was not turn-key, investments, or even questions in our future preparedness go ignored. This is not unique to our company. I see this everywhere as this article states. Ignorance is bliss, especially when you have an IT team that will make up the difference and work 24 hours straight restoring systems the hard way, and for free (on salary) even though there is a VMWare or similar solution available which will allow for quick recovery and a normal night's sleep for IT staff.

What's is most dificult and frustrating is HOW to speak to a cheap and technically challenged Sr. Management team on the benefits of this. All they see is $$ becuase the benefits are not obviously tangible to them.
