I believe that this is not a justified viewpoint of Cisco products in general, but perhaps justified in the lower end markets that they (Cisco) have attempted to compete in with very high quality products....for the most part.
I believe that Cisco is making some of the same mistakes that 3COM made back in the 1990's; that being being all things to all people. In the middle to high range product lines Cisco has a great pricing point for what the HW/SW can do.
