"You get more bang for each line of code you write for
the iPhone. But then the question becomes, which platform
do you develop for next?"
I think that one sentence pretty much sums it up. While I
doubt the iPhone will dominate the smartphone market the
way the iPod rules the PMP arena (a good thing for Apple
actually), that fact is that the iPhone has hit the Trifecta of
assured success-popularity with consumers, carriers and
developers. Now Android, BB, Symbian, WebOS, and WinMo are
going to have to fight amongst themselves for the people
who don't want or can't have an iPhone.
