It's going to be a failure.

While an all-digital, download only gaming device IS the future, the PSPgo isn't it.

If I buy a PSPgo for $250, I won't be able to buy used UMD's from retailers around town, I won't be able to trade-in any digital downloads, and the pricing for the downloads is comparable (NOT cheaper as one would expect) to the regular packaged versions.

Other than the form factor, there is no reason to buy when a PSP-3000 model does everything a Go can, will take UMD's, and is nearly $100 less.

Sony could offer a cheap UMD drive for the Go, so users could transfer their UMD games to the device, but they won't. To do that would affect their online sales and the hefty profit margins they get by skipping the retail chain.

So, skip the Go. It does nothing that the current $169 Core model won't also do, and offers zero advantages other than the 16gb integrated memory and the smaller form factor, neither of which is worth the premium being asked.
