PS on Apple software reliability

I'm lumping together two new-OS bugs that endagered user data, several recent security vulnerabilities in Quicktime under Windows, and the iPhone bug mentioned in this article. Taken together, Apple doesn't seem to be holding to their historical standards of excellence. Is the company spreading itself too thin or trying to move ahead too fast?
