Too often I've read articles that complain that the "big advertisers" - the old guard no longer exist and so it's too hard to know how to get started. They miss the point. You have every opportunity to BECOME the new guard!
Often we tend to focus on the change that put the buggy whip manufacturers out of business rather than the change that brought us the mobility of the automobile. The World Wide Web has given every one of us the opportunity to thrive on the basis of our own minds and tenacity.
The big problem is that public schools are set up to produce factory workers for major corporations - a model that no longer exists. Our economy left its manufacturing base at least a half century ago. The public school agenda no longer fits the needs of our economy and so our children are woefully unprepared for the marketplace.
