We at Cisco wholeheartedly agree with Phil's comment that
the next email system upgrade (not a task you want to do
frequently) needs to address email playing nice with
emerging collaboration solutions. Adoption of these
collaboration platforms will be dependent on content and
active participation and in the near future email will be
"connected" to these new platforms.
The interesting question is what happens to archival,
eDiscovery and compliance? Will we be required to only
archive email but not a post that was created in email but
shows up on a blog? What about an IM session that shows
up as an inbox item? **Insert walks, swims, quacks
metaphor here**
