Hey Dion! Carlo (formerly with HP) here, and thank you for the wealth of information in this post! My point in the subject is that as innovation velocity slows down a bit in 2010, perhaps this will give business leaders an opportunity to grok the implications of the organizational and change management components that accompany technological change. So when the next wave of innovation comes, their organizations will be better prepared to absorb and deploy the technologies to produce meaningful business results faster.
That is not to say that standards and technologies you mention are not important now - they definitely are missing "strands" in the social web that will tie a lot of things together. But in my experience, its the people side of change that has the longest lead time. Maybe 2010 is a chance for that part to catch up.
