I love my tablet... I quite a bit as a slate, and also as a laptop. I like Windows XP tablet edition, and have heard good things about Windows 7 use of multi-touch. I do hope they have improved the handwriting recognition a little bit, though. While good, it does make mistakes. Now, while not normally a Microsoft Office fanboy, I do like OneNote. I can use my slate to take notes, either with the pen or typing, and then save and organize them as needed. I can also share them with my other desktops and send them to others without too much hassle.
I am currently in the market for an upgraded tablet. The apple iPad is a good device, but it lacks a couple features that I would require. Specifically: multitasking, a USB port, and an SD reader.
Currently, my top contender is the Acer Aspire 1820PT when it hits US shelves. The HP Touchsmart is another good contender. I do wish it was a tad bit lighter and thinner though.
Either way, I love my tablet, and will continue to use them. Hopefully the rest of the world will catch on as the devices evolve.
