Iran is a dictatorship.
I still remember when ignorant liberals (sorry, didn't mean to
be redundant) thought the anti-government protests over the
phony election in Iran were actually going to make a difference,
and people like me who said that what was really going to
happen was that the protesters were going to get rounded up
and shot were called all sorts of kinds of cynical pessimists.
Well, sorry to pop your little utopian bubble, but reality wins
out every time. Dictatorships are not overthrown by public
protests.
