Should enterprises be social? They already are. The workers just socialize in face time. You've already mentioned some viable reasons why moving that type of interaction onto computer systems is beneficial. Here are some others. Companies are going global with both workforce and customer base and the cost of flying is always going up. If the team can collaborate online, then you can save on your air fair budget. Companies can also benefit from the increase in accountability when more collaboration is captured in systems with retrieval capability. Dion makes another very salient point. Companies may have to change how they do business in order to fully benefit from ECM.
