Yeah I agree. Just jailbreak and quit complaining about the lack of functionality on your iPhone. I've had tethering on my iPhone for awhile now and it works like a charm.
I also didn't have to install MyWi and my phone still can function as an ad hoc.
It's necessary to jailbreak to see the full power of the iPhone - IMO.
