It is a good start. But with caution. They have a habit of agreeing with standards but then implementing them in a unique way. Just make sure to close all loop holes first! Take documents for example. They say they are going to implement odf and odt, the open standard for document standards. They purposely save parts of the file formatting in a different place than everyone else which makes their documents format differently in other OS's.
Let's hope they are getting tired of fooling people this time.
It would be nice if MS does really get behind open standards instead of just talk about them.
