@davidleecpowell@... I think you've got the point. Small scale studies can be very useful for a quick take and for capturing overall trends. They're not useful, on the other hand, for understanding detailed market dynamics.

For example, a study of the responses of 70 Springsource users could be very useful for understanding usage patterns for that set of tools. It wouldn't be useful to understand the overall dynamics of the market for application frameworks.
