In reply to GKSeifert; I have used Foxit (currently 3.3.0.0430.cr2/3.3.0.0430.phantom.r1) for years and have not seen those "pay for it" notices you refer to.
Granted the editor and creator are shareware, but you're told that up front. Be reasonable, the TOTALLY FREE /READER/ program has NO notice at all.
As for shareware, hey, if you use it, pay for it; or move on. That's the whole point, try-n-buy or uninstall.
