NPD survey was restricted only to smartphone purchases in the 1Q from the 4 _US_ telecom carriers. So other devices such as Nook, etc., were not counted. It is apple that is fudging the numbers by providing worldwide statistics and including iPod Touch to counter a survey that restricted itself to US smartphone sales.
