I will go back and read the linked article later, but I curious how personal equipment fits in under standard HR policies around "offensive" or "inappropriate" items, use of "company" equipment for personal reasons, etc. If I purchased the computer, does that mean I can keep porn on it? If I purchased the computer, does that mean I can send non-stop personal email from it regardless of the company's policies? I eagerly await the first lawsuit stemming from disciplinary action due to an employee-owned PC being used against company policy.
